🔗Workflow experience enhancements!

True to the fact that there is always room to improve something however perfect it may look! Workflow user experience was one of them. D365HR product team has now made it more obvious and smooth!

What has changed?

  1. A blue button comes up on right top part of the screen listing workflow related actions
  2. All approval workflow pending to be actioned appear on landing page for a quick overview.

How will it help?

It’s a bit like the old approval workflows but with GUCCI sunglasses on!😎. If you are a consultant like me, you would be beaming in a workshop when showing how easy it is to find the things to be approved. If you are customer in that workshop, request you to please smile and agree with your friend!

This feature is in public preview as of early Nov and planned for general availability in Nov.

🔗CDS D365HR data on steroids with Virtual entities!

With the introduction of virtual entities for Dynamics 365 Human Resources on CDS, the HR data presence and access capabilities on common data service has reached its peak performance. Do read my separate blog post to get this up and running: CDS Virtual entities for D365HR

What has changed?

  1. Architectural shift from physical data entities on CDS to virtual data entities
  2. Full CRUD capability via virtual data entities
  3. Over 300 HR data entities accessible on CDS

How will it help?

This is a major game changer that will help in implementing complex HR architectural landscapes which is always needed in real world customer scenarios. It will help solving some of the most critical customer problems custom reporting and 3rd party integrations.

Manager Self Service enhancements

The capability on Manager Self Service has seen some small but much needed improvements in the recent past.

What has changed?

Read this interesting article from Pavan to know how to get this up and running: Add custom links to manager self service

Small note when creating links: The group field is a drop down list but type the value and add to make it work. The links are specific to legal entity(more flexibility for a global company!)

How will it help?

All the enhancements, although small have significant impact on the user experience of how managers interact with Dynamics 365 Human Resources. So a big kudos to the product team in enhancing this

🔗Enhanced candidate profile in personnel management!

This is part of a bigger puzzle around integration capabilities that are being enhanced.

What has changed?

  1. The data capture capabilities related to candidate profile before a successful candidate is hired into the company as an employee is enhanced

How will it help?

I would like to play with this capability on trial first and write more about it. It looks exciting and something to look forward to!

🔗Integration capability enhancements related to candidate data

With the decommissioning of Attract solution, the exposure of api’s related to candidate data will help customers and partners solve the missing piece of the puzzle.

What has changed?

  1. Recruitment process and candidate data based scenario specific api’s are made available out of the box by the product team.

How will it help?

This will make customers and partners create seamless data flow architectural landscapes for candidate data to flow into Dynamics 365 Human Resources.
